Greetings from Basel, Switzerland! When the Center for Barth Studies launched this online magazine last October, we intended to cultivate a new and (hopefully) vibrant theological conversation. Since then, we have published over 100 posts on various theological topics and themes—sometimes in critical conversation with Barth and sometimes in the spirit of Barth. To my amazement, our readership has been consistently high, and we now have nearly 3,000 subscribers. I am proud of the space we have created here and look forward to continuing the conversation. So much competes for our attention in the digital world, and I am grateful that you have chosen to read this platform.
Our team needs time to pause, reflect, and prepare for the upcoming academic year to continue bringing you consistent, quality writing. Quite honestly, the success of this online platform is why we need to take a short break. We are excited for many of our writers who have agreed to continue with us next year and some new writers who will join the team. To that end, God Here and Now will pause its production for a few weeks.
We would love it if you shared our online magazine with your friends and colleagues. And if you have any questions or constructive feedback, please contact us at barth.center@ptsem.edu.
See you soon!
