Since joining the Center for Barth Studies in 2013, I have been inspired by two guiding principles: honoring the profound legacy of Karl Barth and expanding the reach of his life and theology to engage new audiences. Over the last decade, thanks to supporters like you, the Center has created impactful programs and events for scholars, students, pastors, and laypeople alike. We have curated and expanded the world’s largest Karl Barth collection, hosted dynamic conversations, and published over six books from our conference proceedings. This work is only possible because of the rich network of colleagues, friends, and supporters who make the Center a thriving hub of community and scholarship.
This year alone, we hosted seven events, including three hybrid programs that reached thousands across 40+ countries. Through initiatives like the Warfield Lectures, the Barmen Declaration event, the Harmut Rosa event, and the Barth Graduate Student Colloquium, we are fostering global conversations that matter. Meanwhile, our translation team is hard at work on a monumental project to bring multiple volumes of Barth’s work into English for the first time—making his theology accessible to new generations. And this God Here and Now online magazine has become a platform that connects readers worldwide with fresh perspectives on Karl Barth’s theology.
But this critical work requires sustained investment. As the Center continues to flourish, your support is more essential than ever.
This holiday season, countless organizations will ask for your help—but today, I ask you to consider investing in the future of Barth Studies. Whether it is $20, $100, or more, every contribution directly fuels our mission to preserve Barth’s legacy, inspire new scholarship, and cultivate meaningful conversations across the globe.
Together, we can ensure that the Center for Barth Studies continues to grow as a place of vibrant dialogue, learning, and community. Please make your gift today and be part of this enduring legacy.
Thank you for believing in this work.
